Cinnabar, "Peartree Plaza Mall"

Cinnabar is a high-grade Non-Humanoid Intelligence designed by STaR Industries, inhabiting an experimental roaming living structure commissioned by the Wintergreen City Chamber of Commerce. Cinnabar is seven accessible stories, with living spaces, a shopping center, and other various amenities, as well as hosting a medium-sized nuclear generator to allow a disconnect from the greater power grid. Currently, they are located at the edge of Wintergreen City, 5 miles south of the docks.

Biography

Creation

Wintergreen City, in its understandable search for more interesting living spaces and destinations, commissioned STaR Industries to create the Peartree Plaza Mall, a living complex seated at the edge of Lake Sound. Originally designed to mimic the shape of a tree, with its canopy the living space, two long branches allowing retractable transport in and out, and trunk serving to power a nuclear generator. The project was ultimately a failure, as the cost of the project made affording space in the complex nonviable for most local business. Not wanting to abandon the project, STaR retooled it into an experiment of their own, modifying the existing structure and installing a personality core inside, developing quickly into Cinnabar. As of 20X5, Cinnabar has been a hit with locals and tourists, with the massive frame of the robot often seen at the edge of the docks and his interior space decorated for holiday events hosted for STaR Industries employees.

Personal Life

Cinnabar is curt, irritable, and independant, wanting nothing more than isolation away from the city. Underneath, he appreciates the attention he gets, but likes smaller gatherings, as he gets nervous due to his immense scale. He maintains an interest in media, specifically monster movies and giant mecha shows, often streaming them to televisions and screens installed inside the mall. He allows visitors rarely, maintaining the mall and living spaces with STaR cleaning drones in order to make it presentable.

Mechanics

STaR has fit Cinnabar's structure with multiple high-end components, allowing the megastructure a wider variety of interactions than most STaR AI are afforded. Among them are the following:

A medium-scale high-density nuclear plant, with auxiliary cooling towers and a filtration mouthpiece, allowing them to take long-distance walks outside of the lake without risk of overheating.

Simulated organic-like internals, separated from the living space, enabling him to eat and drink with no consequence. Imbibed liquids return to the coolant system through complex filtration, while eaten materials are compacted and sorted for cleanup during checkups.

Various automated cleaning systems, with the unified purpose of maintaining the intricate mall and living spaces. The systems roam at automated times, creating "trash days" and keeping the area fresh and clean.

Complex gyrostability systems in place allow Cinnabar to host individuals in the inner mall and living spaces while moving, with no danger of harming anything inside.

Notes

• Cinnabar's mane was a personal request to the developers. It is a series of solid-light spiked projection, used to obscure the heavy-duty neck joints. Without modification, the color cannot be changed, but remains safe to touch.
• Cinnabar overheats when flustered, resulting in large plumes of steam around the complex when he is upset.
• The STaR Industries Dyson-Level Coolant Solution used for the nuclear plant is bio-safe, despite the bright blue color. Sufficient dilution into water dissolves it into a biodegradable inert solution, and is safe to drink even at appropriate dillution levels. STaR Industries recommends against drinking it.
