Voltaire Clovers

Voltaire Clovers, known to most as Mr. Clovers or as "the one-armed bandit", is the high-stakes dealer at the Hard Way Casino at the edge of Wintergreen. He is known to have an innate sense of luck, being able to pick out the most able player in the room and know immediately if anyone is cheating. A thick public presence masks a relatively mysterious past, as none really know where the strange cerberus comes from or what his history is like.

Biography

Early Years

Knowledge of Voltaire's past is in short supply, as he is often unwilling to talk about himself during work and even more unavailable outside of the casino. What is known is that he is an immigrant to the area, having moved only a year prior to joining the Hard Way Casino. What is known is Voltaire's present, in that their personal life is often alluded to by their employer. They live outside of the city in a more suburban area, being an upstanding member of the neighborhood. He is known to host backyard pool parties, support the locals in fundraisers for schools, and is rumored to take hikes often and work with local scouts. Voltaire himself hasn't responded to any of these allegations, preferring to keep his personal and professional lives incredibly separate.

• Voltaire is rumored to come from the Uzuran Isles, oweing to their unique pupils. He has denied this claim.
• According to them, those who are particularly lucky smell like vanilla extract. Cheaters smell like cut grass.
• Their collar was a gift from their employer, having got it custom-made. He has not been seen without it since.
• Their lack of an arm is a result of an accident in his childhood. He has since adjusted and learned how to shuffle one-handed.
• Voltaire got his position through outplaying his employer, an incredibly capable gambler.
