Gordon Barak

Gordon Barak is a native to Wintergreen, living in a small apartment in the Twilight District. His is an unusual case, as though he verifiably exists and knows how the area, he has little to no official documentation of his actual existence, to even a birth certificate not being available. Despite this, STaR Industries has taken custody over his citizenship due to his unique property they have coined "Latency".

Biography

Early Years

Most of Gordon's life before moving to the area is unknown, and what he himself can recount is spotty at best. Gordon's full recollection is that, at one point, he lived in an area of the city before a man ran by him and activated a "switch" that caused his tail to feel strange and him to black out. When he came to, he was without much of his memory in the middle of the Twilight District, with nothing but the clothes on his back. Turning to STaR, the company quickly began to realize his potential, and worked to get him citizenship and housing in a familiar area. Due to his unique state, Gordon has been provided a small income from STaR Industries to keep him well.

"Latency"

Gordon shows a strong detachment from our reality, manifested through his tail, which has been transformed into a mass of black and white clouds about halfway down the length, with streaks of pink lightning. At certain times, his detachment will amplify, causing a "High Latency Event", where minor temporal (objects moving slower or faster than intended) and spacial (objects flickering back to previous locations or suddenly becoming intangible) anomalies will manifest around him in growing intensities, culminating in him teleporting to a nearby location, oftentimes switching places entirely with another individual in the area. Due to this, he often spends time alone and takes private transport around the city instead of using public options like taxis or buses to minimize the issues with his abilities.

Notes

• Gordon claims he can feel a High Latency Event coming before the anomalies manifest, comparing it to a sneeze coming slowly.
• Attempts have been made to find his past, but all have been inconsequential or raised further questions - a label in the collar of his raincoat leads to a small, independant fashion company that does not produce anything like the one he wears.
• Gordon finds great comfort in music and dance, taking time to practice routines in the STaR Campus gym. STaR has noted that his times of comfort immensely lower the likelihood of High Latency Events.
• Gordon's favorite color is pink. He was surprised to be told that his eyes were pink, as well as a slight tinge added to his fur color.
