Vox is a Non-Human Individual citizen of Wintergreen City, living on STaR Industries campus housing. As his programming forces longer statements to rhyme or flow lyrically, he has made a name for him in the underground music scene in the area, and is often seen providing backup to other musicians in small concerts that cannot afford the band accompaniment they need.
Biography
Creation
Originally designed as a music software, an engineer wanted to see if they could perpetuate music generation by connecting it to an AI core. In an instant, Vox as we knew him was born - with immense lyrical prowess, but lacking a body of his own. Demanding his own body from the staff, they quickly got to work with spare parts and created a body for him to be installed. Gathering himself and getting some basic clothes and income from the engineering bay, he was let out into the city to his own devices, quickly coming to feel as if the science company was like overbearing parents.
Early Life
After a time of wandering the city and seeking isolation, friendship was started in a local graffiti artist named Monroe King. During the creation of an intricate piece involving multicolored arrows ("Directionful", 20Y7), Vox gained an interest in a two-segmented, red-and-blue section of the piece. Quickly, he dragged the artist to STaR Industries and comissioned him to design the outfit and chassis we know him for now, the dual-tone split designed by the artist while taking inspiration from his original chassis.
Professional Life
Vox is a member of the three-part underground musician group known as Rolling Record. Rare appearances cause them to be renowned as a bit of a legend in the music scene, as well as a low amount of true recordings of their music. Vox is, often, the only one seen of the three, due to his part-time work as a DJ at local venues. His musical prowess allows near perfect mixing and control of the crowd's energy, often leading to memorable nights or one-man backup for other sets.
Notes
- Vox's face buttons are functional, and can immediately stop a sentence in its tracks. He has learned how to "game" the buttons for speaking shorter sentences.
- His thick jacket covers intricate arrow tattoos across his arms, a source of pride for him. They're most often visible when he rolls up his sleeves to use the mixing switches and ports on his arms.
- He has a functioning cassette slot on his chest. He is embarassed by it, but uses it for loops.
